Notice is herby given to Article7, Section 23 (c) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of the Washington Parish Council on Aging, Inc.
A meeting in Washington Parish will be held at the Franklinton Senior Center, at 1025 Dobson Street Franklinton La. on Friday, May 27, at 2:00 p.m. to consider levying additional or increased mileage rates without further voter approval of adopting the the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year's maximum the estimated of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $600,000.00

Washington Parish Council on Aging Membership Drive Open
The Washington Parish Council on Aging Membership Drive is now open without restriction to residents of Washington Parish who have reached the age of majority. Applicatons will be take at the Bogalusa Senior Center located at 603 Willis Aveune Bogalusa, LA 70427 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., application deadline is Friday, December 2, 2022. People who have been identified as current members two weeks prior to the December meeting may vote for the board members. Membership fees have been wavied. The Washington Parish annual membership meeting will be held December 16, 2022, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Bogalusa Senior Center. We will also hold a meet and greet with the Washington Parish Council on Aging Staff and Board Members beginning at 11:00 a.m. the group will nominate and elect board members, receive reports and conduct any other business that may arise.
