MEETINGS
The next scheduled meeting of the Washington Parish Council on Aging Board of Directors will be Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bogalusa Senior Center located at 603 Willis Ave, Bogalusa, LA.
In order to comply with PEP-JBE 2020-30 and adhere to CDC Guidance for disease prevention and control, seating may be limited in the meeting room. Public comments may be submitted in advance of the meeting and during the public comment period during the meeting.

The Washington Parish Council on Aging is a non-profit corporation promoting the overall welfare and independence of persons sixty years and above in Washington Parish. The Council provides social services such as transportation, home-delivered meals, congregate meals, recreation and exercise. Other functions of the agency include coordinating and planning with other organizations and acting as an advocate for seniors. Washington Parish Public Transit offers demand-response and subscription transportation services on a non-emergency basis. Vehicle types include 12 passenger lift-equipped buses. Services are provided curb-to-curb.

***COVID19 UPDATE***
Transportation services are provided Monday-Friday to essential businesses such as medical, drug store, grocery store, and bank. Non-essential trips may be scheduled on a first come, first serve, space available basis. In order to comply with social distancing guidelines, trip loads will not exceed 3 passengers per vehicle Passengers must consent to a temperature check and wear a face covering while in transport.

***COVID19***
The Govenor of the State of Louisiana has stated that reopening Louisiana will be done in phases. According to the Office of State Fire Marshall Open Safely Guidelines, Washington Parish Council on Aging Senior Centers should remain closed. There are no specific dates for re-opening at this time.
Meals will continue to be delivered to regular Congregate Nutrition Participants at home until Council on Aging facilities are allowed to open and provide services safely.
