The Washington Parish Council on Aging is a non-profit corporation promoting the overall welfare and independence of persons sixty years and above in Washington Parish. The Council provides social services such as transportation, home-delivered meals, congregate meals, recreation and exercise. Other functions of the agency include coordinating and planning with other organizations and acting as an advocate for seniors. Washington Parish Public Transit offers demand-response and subscription transportation services on a non-emergency basis. Vehicle types include 12 passenger lift-equipped buses. Services are provided curb-to-curb.

Franklinton Senior Center - Serving time 11:00 a.m.

Activities begin at 9:00 a.m.

Regular Transit Services

Resume Effective 7/1/2021

Transportation services are provided Monday-Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a first come, first serve, space available basis.  2-day advance reservations required.   Passengers must consent to a temperature check and wear a face covering while in transport.

Washington Parish Council on Aging announces that Senior Centers and Meal Sites have fully re-opened!

Due to  COVID-19 the following restrictions will remain in place:

Any person entering COA facilities will be asked to submit to a temperature check upon arrival

Staff will conduct a COVID19 screening, anyone answering yes to any of the questions or with COVID like symptoms will not be allowed to enter

If you are not fully vaccinated, we strongly encourage you to consult with your healthcare provider to assess your risk and determine if you should attend activities at the Senior Center and wear a face covering at all times while indoors.

In order to comply with the Governor's Statewide Mask Mandate, masks are required for entry.
