Service Description
RESERVATIONS
All trips are scheduled on a first come, first serve call in basis. Demand response trips are trips where the rider calls for service each time a trip is desired. These requests must be received at least two days prior to the requested trip. Same day requests will be honored on a first come-first serve, space available basis.
Service Area
SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES
Subscription services are recurring trips that the rider is not required to call in each time services are needed. These trips are scheduled on a weekly basis. Due to the high volume of requsts, WPPT maintains a waiting list for subscription trips when space is not available to accommodate a riders request.
Hours of Operation
PASSENGER ASSISTANCE
Drivers provide minimal assistance to passengers boarding vehicles. If you require additional or special assistance you should have an attendant accompany you on trips. Children age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Washington Parish Public Transit offers demand response & subscription transportation services on a non- emergency basis. Vehicle types include 12 passenger lift-equipped, handicapped accessible vans and 7 passenger accessible minivans. Services are provided curb-to-curb
Services are provided for any person residing within the geographic area of Washington Parish. Passengers may be transported to any destination located within parish boundaries. WPPT does not cross state lines. Specific routes and schedules are available upon request.
Vehicle operating hours are from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. Specific schedules for certain areas may be obtained by contacting (985) 732-6868 or (985)839-4535. Services may be available at other times. Please call for more information.
WHEELCHAIR & MOBILITY DEVICES
TICKET INFORMATION
If you use a mobility aid or wheelchair, please keep it in good condition. If you use a manual wheelchair, please have an attendant to assist you down steps, ramps, over rough terrain, or steep slopes to our curb-to-curb bus service.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at a discounted rate.
Advance Ticket Purchases:

Funding to provide public transportation made available through The Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development, Public Transportation Section, and Title III of the Older Americans Act, & is sponsored by Washington Parish Government.
